About this deal

The only place EK deviates from the objective is to talk about its RGB lighting on the acrylic cover, claiming that it’s a “light diffuser with a frosted finish for a dynamic lighting display with smooth color transitions.” We think, frankly, it looks like it was made in someone’s shed on their 3D printer, but that’s not particularly relevant to its performance. We’ll let you judge the looks yourself. Both AIO Basic and Elite Aurum made their video debuts at the EK EXPO Media Day, and you can see them in the immersive 360 Showroom. Availability and Pricing We have upgraded our Intel test bed recently. A few coolers have been tested on this setup. More will be added after the testing in coming time.

Not every run of the stress test may yield the same result. This could well be due to many factors like mounting pressure, thermal paste application, varying ambient temperature. Not to mention the silicon differences even among the same category of the chips. Hence, it is pertinent to mention the testing methodology along with the specifics. At the time of writing, the EK AIO 240 D-RGB was available for 120 dollars. This makes it a not so pricey cooler compared to other 240mm AIOs in the same size range, especially with ARGB capabilities. Compared to earlier market giants like Corsair, NZXT, and ARCTIC, EK has been very generous with the EK AIO 240 D-RGB features.Users will get confused when choosing the EK AIO 240 D-RGB against some mighty competitors in the market like the: The radiator assembly has a nice clean finish all around. There is no EKWB branding on the side of the assembly.

This product is compatible with popular RGB sync technologies from all major motherboard manufacturers. The arrow marking on the 3-pin LED connector is to be aligned with the +5V marking on the A-RGB (D_RGB) header. You can easily remove the LED strip cover which is mounted with two screws to replace the LED strip with some other type of LED strip.NOTE: This is a transcript of our video, for the most part, although the video has some more discussion in the intro and conclusion than found here. Likely unsurprisingly, the Liquid Freezer II remains the leader in VRM thermals at 35dBA. The NH-D15 is next, with the Liquid Freezer following that up with its VRM fan disabled -- the wider spread of the 140mm fans help get even spread across the VRM heatsinks. The EK AIO series follows that. The EK AIO 240 and 360 are within error and test variance of each other in all three MOSFET thermal measurements. Ultimately, this number doesn’t matter too much -- it’s a technical tally favoring large air coolers that cast air toward the VRM heatsinks, like the NH-D15, or toward the Arctic Liquid Freezer with a VRM fan; that said, considering we’re talking about parts that can run at 100C and technically still be fine, it’s something of a hollow victory under these testing conditions. Note that this chart becomes irrelevant if you mount your EK AIO in the front, as you’d be relying on case fans, at that point. Coldplate Levelness

EKWB’s 240D-RGB splashes into the AIO cooling market with good looks and potent cooling potential.

It all comes down to personal preference and usage, as users may be able to determine their needs in the end, since all of these coolers provide almost equal cooling but differ in terms of looks and noise levels. Should You Buy It? We can’t judge endurance from a review period, so we’ll have to keep an eye on how these coolers develop over years of use to see how EK’s and Arctic’s designs really aged. Ultra-durable design with diamond-cut rotary fittings - The EK AIO comes pre-installed with reinforced and sleeved rubber tubing, each fitted with an aluminum cover to ensure they’re ultra-durable. Its diamond-cut rotary fittings allow for easy installation and adjustment of the rubber tubing, featuring a full range of movement to make the EK AIO suitable for installation in even the tightest spaces. And we see that materialize here: The EK AIO 360 is functionally equal to the NZXT Kraken X72, X63, and H115i Platinum. The other 360s, like the H150i and H360X3, end up charted ahead but within error. Everything we just named is within run-to-run variance or error, and so we can say they’re equal in this test environment. The EK AIO 240 falls closer to the EK Fluid Gaming 240 and older Corsair H100iV2. AMD 3800X Auto Frequency
