About this deal

New westbound slip road to provide access to the new westbound A66 dual carriageway for local farms and properties to the south of the A66 in this location Northbound M18 traffic travelling south on the M1. Exit at M1 Junction 33 Catcliffe Roundabout, take A630 onto the A631 to Junction 1 of the M18 (Bramley Interchange). At Cross Lanes, we are proposing to remove the existing junctions providing access to Moorhouse Lane and Cross Lanes Organic Farm and Café. This will remove the need for right-turn manoeuvres across the carriageway by including a bridge over the A66. We are carrying out further detailed inspections so we can fully understand the level of work we need to do. We're realigning A63 exit slip roads, westbound and eastbound and on Brighton Street roundabout for improved safety at the junction, leading to safer journeys.

We understand that construction activities can sometimes be disruptive and due to the nature of the work some noise is inevitable, but this will be kept to a minimum where possible. Rest assured, we will make every effort to ensure that the work progresses smoothly and any disturbance kept to a minimum.

Relocate an existing footway, bus stop, signage and lighting columns onto the southern verge of Middleton Tyas Lane to accommodate the additional carriageway lane The A66 between Penrith and Temple Sowerby is a single carriageway section which varies in width. Along this section there are several private access points, including one for Center Parcs. These can be difficult and unsafe for drivers to manoeuvre when turning right onto and off the existing A66. Benefits Traffic intending to travel east on A616 to Fox Valley Way Roundabout shall be diverted onto the A628 eastbound at Flouch Roundabout and continue on the A628 eastbound to its junction with B6462. At the junction turn left onto B6462 and continue to B6462/A629 junction. At the junction turn right onto A629 and continue to A629/A616 (Wortley Junction) where the diversion ends.

Work will be done overnight when traffic levels are lightest, to minimise disruption, between 7pm and 7am.

Aktuell: Stau, Sperrungen und Baustellen auf der A67

We're carrying out overnight inspection and survey work on t he M1 northbound between junctions 46 (Austhorpe) and 47 (Parlington), on weeknights from Monday (2 October). Tuesday 26 September 8pm to 6am eastbound under traffic lights and convoy at A66 Rokeby/Greta Bridge area

Once this inspection is complete, we can then work with our design teams to develop the plan to repair the bridge, with the least disruption possible to customers and residents. With more than 17,000 vehicles using this section of the interchange every day, we need to carefully plan the work This is a real challenge due to the importance of this route for locals and businesses on the nearby Aycliffe Business Park and Forrest Park. U-turn ban preventing traffic turning from the eastbound carriageway onto the westbound carriageway Raise the new A66 as it passes through the cutting next to the Carkin Moor scheduled monument. This will help us better accommodate the retaining walls to the north and south of the new A66 and reduce any impact on the scheduled monument itself The road surface on the eastbound carriageway is showing signs of wear and tear and requires attention. To widen the Middleton Tyas Lane approach to the A1(M) junction 53 at Scotch Corner roundabout from one lane to two lanes. This will result in better access to the roundabout at this priority approachWiden each of the roads approaching M6 junction 40 (M6 North, M6 South, A66 East, A66 West and A592) to provide additional lanes and a dedicated left turn; each arm would be controlled using traffic signals
