About this deal

At this point, you may wish to introduce a push-along baby walker to help your baby get used to the action of walking and to encourage them to take their first unaided steps. MsT 'I bought this gift for a little boy with severe learning difficulties and he loves them , they are safe for him and he enjoys the bright colours' Granny 'Easy to put together, sturdy and helpful with variety of learning skills for young children.'

Tourman 'It's great. 1st birthday present, he now sprints around the room in stead of crawling. Loves it.'

What is the best baby walker?

Bought this for my Grandson which he loves but unfortunately the screws which hold the handle in place keep coming loose. There are tools to tighten them but a couple of hours play loosens them off again. I’m hoping we can find a more secure way to keep the handle in place' Cherry 'This was just right for my grandson on his first birthday. He loves it and so do his parents.' LOUALAN2 'Great for helping children develop their skills and have fun putting the shapes in different places' Bevn 'Great for imaginative and manipulative play. Bought 2 as 1 not enough ....doubling the size would have been better as a present'

Alex3410 'Really nice wooden toy, really well received and so impressed we got one for ourselves 10/10' Kelly94 'My daughter absolutely loves this. Was brought by my mum for her for Christmas and is definitely her 'go-to toy' great value, brilliant quality very impressed. Thanks!' Bigal 'Bought two of these for our grandchildren, well known make good quality and kids love it. a nice toy for learning with as well.' Before we recommend new products, we always ask our trusted Mumsnet users, of which there are more than 7 million each month. That’s a lot of honest, impartial advice. Expert guidanceMumknowsbest 'Great if you can get the handle tight it seems to come loose in seconds my son loves paying with it as a scooter!!' Elayne 'Good quality for the price paid, little one loves it although he uses it as a scooter sometimes which has lead to him tipping it but that was his fault and not the toy, only saying to let people know that they would need to supervise their child when playing with it.' Les 95 'Bought for a Christmas present for a one year old. As stated in the information book, it does need adult supervision as it is unstable if used the wrong way round. The child finally found it was more fun to sit in it and be pushed around the house.'

VTech First Steps Baby Walker is fab, front panel detaches for playing on floor then can be used as a walker when baby is a bit bigger.” (Rated by Mumsnetter moaningminniewhingesagain)

What are the disadvantages of a baby walker?

Michelle 'My granddaughter loves this it is very sturdy and great quality reminded me of when I was a little girl' Hanan 'I brought this one to my 4 and 3 years children, it’s entertaining but the pieces are small, and no catalogue for different shapes that can be done and help the children to do more shapes.' Lolol 'After being told he needed more support walking about he loves this as it gives him the ability to walk unaided by other people with the wheels he can walk around anywhere in the house' MaddiesMumma 'Such an ageless toy, my almost 5 year old still loves to play with these! Very durable and well made, I would highly recommend this product!' Potential Benefits: Developing social skills. Fine Motor Skills. Hand and Eye Coordination. Shapes and Colours. Problem Solving. Creativity. Imagination. Cause and Effect.

Spud 'Bought as a present and not yet given. Looks a nice little toy and the bendy rods are probably a good idea. Don’t know if they will break off if bent too often but probably better than a normal rod (which can also be broken).' MrsTeacher 'Great for exploring shape, space and construction. Small enough for little hands and a good range of shapes.' Terry 'The price we paid was definitely worth it bigger and definitely better quality than I expected'

Minnie 'This product is designed for 1yr plus it advertises but it is very light and tips up easily for a young child to manouvour about. My greatgranddaughter is 1yr and walking and as she tries to push it it tips up. She is fine with a pram . I feel that there's a design fault' Ahdh 'Had to take these off my little one. He is still putting things in his mouth and all the paint came off these without much effort and the ones with no paint on he bit chunks of wood away so probably better for older not teething babies.' Seated baby walkers do not help a baby to learn to walk, although that is not to say that they don’t entertain a baby. Lulu 'Good for the price i expected them to be more colourful. Most of pieces are simply wooden and only few are coloured.'
