About this deal

Since I received this unit from my fellow audiophile Pulkit Dreamz, I am grateful to him. And as I've said in all of my evaluations, the same is true for this one: all of the concepts I've expressed below are entirely my own, original ideas that haven't been influenced by anyone else. If interested, go to this link.

The essence of my listening impressions with the ADI-2 DAC FS is that the IE600 has plenty of bass presence with good quality. The bass is sometimes a bit bloomy but never bloated. The mid-range is warm and inviting, yet full of detail and texture. The treble is never too bright, but it is crisp and clear. I am usually quite sensitive to bright headphones, but the IE600 doesn’t trigger fatigue for me. The iKKO OH10 is a very nice-sounding IEM. It is made of metal but unlike the IE600 it’s very heavy. It fits well in my ears, though. The earbuds themselves are the result of engineering that’s no less involved and no more compromised than that of what’s inside them. The housing is formed using metal-powder-based 3D printing, meaning all necessary chambers and channels are created with no milling required. And the zirconium alloy from which they’re formed has triple the strength and flex-resistance of (suddenly antiquated) high-performance steel – it features in the drilling head of NASA’s Mars Rover, which bodes well for its chances of standing up to a stint in the departure lounge followed by a long-haul flight. After a thorough cleaning, steel-shot blasting, polishing and surface treatment (this last, admittedly, in the name of aesthetic appeal only), the housing is complete and ready to resist corrosion and scratches no matter how careless the eventual owner. If you’re in the market for a mid-fi market IEM that keeps it engaging but shows you what a higher end IEM can do, then the Sennheiser IE 600 for sure should be on your short list to audition.Ahhhh, yes. It's impressive. Without looking at graphs, I had guessed that it's a W tuning: deep bass, upfront vocals, extended treble. I do not feel that the detail level is very far apart but the IE600 feels smoother and more liquid in the treble, whereas the Keto has more edge and bite. Sennheiser’s 7 mm TrueResponse transducer is quite impressive, and one of the world’s smallest of its kind. Sennheiser claims that distortion is extremely low too. bass has a very good sub bass depth with good rumble and dynamics, every song sounds fun and exciting, orchestral music like two steps from hell - never give up on your dreams sounds superb with majestic rumble

By primary parameter, I mean the factor that make me keep the iem. For example, N3 replaced er2xr for me. There was a bit more detail to N3, more bass which surprisingly I loved and overall sound signature of sony which is really fun. N3 did all of this without being fatiguing. To that end, Sennheiser is very proud of its manufacturing processes where this component is concerned, as well it might be. The channel-matching between left and right earbud transducers is claimed to be the most accurate in the industry. Now, I do understand this. I own not one but two watches which are, when all is said and done, less accurate than simply glancing at my phone so I can certainly understand the bespoke appeal of the IE 900 but I also have to say that mentioning as an aside to someone “yeah, they’re made of Amorphous Zirconium” has a certain charm to it as well. Sennheiser feels that the target for these is predominantly male, aged 20 to 40 and may well own a selection of earphones and DACs for different tasks. I think this is a fair assessment of many people active in this sort of sector but I think it underplays the group of people who are drawn to something new and technically interesting and I suspect that the IE 600 might steal more than a sale or two off its big brother for this reason. The walking bass is very nicely defined, balanced and easy to follow. The two trumpets are quite aggressive sounding, and the upper mids and treble have some real bite, without being too much. It just feels raw and energetic. The bass is powerful and balances between tight and full in a delicious way. There’s certainly enough rumble. Percussion is tight and punchy, the vocals are just how they should be. Smashing Pumpkins have always fascinated me when they let the guitar and the bass play the same lines. It gives such a powerful sound. With the IE600, you can follow the guitar and bass separately but not in an analytical way. It’s a very full-bodied presentation.

Choose between para-aramid reinforced unbalanced and balanced cables: 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm are included, 2.5 mm are sold separately. Two different styles of earbud tips — silicone and memory foam — are provided in three sizes to establish a comfortable seal in any ear. Flexible, adjustable ear hooks further enhance the long-lasting comfort.
